Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for Registered Nurses (Evening and Night shifts only). SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, person-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In pursuing the person-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her legally authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.
Under the direction of a Health Services Coordinator, each Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and directing quality care to our individuals who are developmentally disabled. These positions are also responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the nursing/health services. Responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of a professional and para-professional staff in the provision of health care services. Develops and implements nursing care policy, assesses staff training needs, assists in preparation of nursing services, budgets and serves as primary consultant and liaison for matters relating to health care services.
Requirements: Knowledge of health delivery systems. Knowledge of and skills in nursing practices. Current Virginia Nursing License and a graduate of an RN program. Developmental Disabilities Nursing experience preferred. Home Health experiences a plus. Strong work ethic. This position requires the ability to work independently. Successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have documentation skills. Good interpersonal skills are a must. Ability to coordinate and lead a multifaceted health care component. Experience with the MR/DD population preferred.
Salary Range: $44,182 minimum Pay Band 5
