Physical Therapist III
Our Agency: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility, located near Petersburg, Virginia, is recruiting for a Physical Therapist III(Therapist III). SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, person-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In pursuing the person-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.
Job Description: The Physical Therapist will evaluate, recommend, provide and supervise physical therapy services as referred by physicians for the individuals and documents the same. The Physical Therapist will serve as an interdisciplinary team member to ensure that the individual needs are being met. The Physical Therapist will also provide in-service training to professional, paraprofessional, and nonprofessional staff and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy Technicians and Physical Therapy students as assigned.
Work Hours: Generally 7:30am-4:18pm (Monday-Friday). Alternative work schedules are also available.
Requirements: Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing; the ability to work with all levels of staff; the ability to work effectively as a team member, have flexibility in time management; and the ability to work with patients with multiple diagnoses.
A graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapist licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Virginia is also required.
Wheelchair evaluation, teaching and experience with pediatrics and/or long term care (to include care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities) is preferred. Computer experience is also a plus.
Salary Range: $52,000.00 minimum, Pay Band 5
