Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for a Nutritionist. SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, person-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In pursuing the person-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her legally authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.
This position will promote optimal nutrition for all individuals and to represent the Food Service Department professionally and ethically. Candidates must have knowledge of food service systems and normal and therapeutic nutrition throughout the lifecycle. Must be skilled in nutrition assessment, care planning, team process, nutrition education and counseling.
Requirements: Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as the ability to manage time in the performance of multiple tasks. In addition applicant must have the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively, to critically evaluate scientific literature, and to provide nutrition counseling. Candidate must have completed a degree in Nutrition. Preferably he or she should be Credentialed as a Registered, or registry eligible, Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Salary Range: $31,352 minimum, Pay Band 04
