Occupational Therapist Supervisor

Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential support facility for individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities, located near Petersburg, Virginia, is recruiting for an Occupational Therapist Supervisor position. Services, provided by caring employees, are client centered, highly individualized and functional, in an environment that nurtures growth and development. This position is responsible for managing staff performance, providing administrative and clinical supervision of assigned staff, serving on the department’s management team, completing related administrative documentation and reports, serving on assigned committees and completing assigned special projects.

This position is also responsible for managing a direct caseload which includes providing evaluation, consultative and therapeutic services related to the delivery of Occupation Therapy (OT) services, planning and developing OT programs to clients in a MR/DD environment, monitoring of services, program planning and implementation; and related documentation and communication and in-service training.

Requirements: Competitive applicant will possess working knowledge of the principles of OT theory related to evaluation and therapy. Knowledge of and/or abilities in program development and interfacing with other disciplines. Demonstrated ability in conducting evaluations, designing of treatment plans; communicating effectively orally and in writing; and fabricating splints and adaptive equipment. Applicant should be a graduate from an accredited OT program, have previous experience as an Occupational Therapist, certification with National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists (NBCOT), licensed by the VA State Board of Medicine. Previous experience with the MR/DD population, working with program development and treatment planning, and splinting preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Salary: $57,500 minimum, Pay Band 5
