Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for an Institutional Chauffeur. SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, client-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In pursuing the client-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her legally authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to transport and ensure the safety of passengers including patients, clients, residents, staff and others needing transporting and assist in passenger loading and unloading. In addition, this position is responsible for transporting supplies, merchandise, and special mail on and off site for three facilities. The individual in this position will operate motor vehicles, including, but not limited to automobiles, buses, and specially equipped vans and will select the proper vehicle in accordance with the assigned task and/or trip ticket. Other responsibilities include maintaining proper documentation, maintaining vehicle appearance, and ensuring the integrity of vendor transactions for purchases and supplies. Demonstrated ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records. Past experience loading and unloading individuals and equipment.

Requirements: Must have Valid Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (with Air Brakes). Must be able to pass federally mandated drug test.

Salary: $19,510 minimum; Pay band 1
