Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for a Rehabilitation Technician. SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, person-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In pursuing the person-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her legally authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.

This position will promote independence for our clients through the use of assistive technology. This position will develop, fabricates and install assistive devices and technology, including multimedia computer materials for SVTC clients and staff.

Requirements: Applicant will have the ability to work closely with individuals with severe disabilities, including participating in multi-disciplinary assessments for adaptive equipment. Knowledge of basic circuitry and electrical systems. Proficient in computer use, including knowledge if current software, hardware, peripheral use and installation. Experience in working with plastics, metals, and wood. Knowledge of and skill in use of power and shop tools. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or certification in electronics is preferred.

Salary: $23,999 - $49,255, Pay Band 03
