Food Service Technician I (Classified)

Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), a residential facility located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for a Food Service Technician I (Classified) position. SVTC’s primary mission is to provide quality, client-centered health and habilitative services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In pursuing the client-centered approach, staff from various disciplines work as a team with the individual and his/her legally authorized representative to address the individual needs, goals, choices and preferences.

The responsibilities of this position are to perform a variety of routine and repetitive task in the area of food service. Duties include, but are not limited to: retrieving bulk food ingredients and processing ingredients into finished food products for transfer to individual meals; proportioning, packaging for shipment, loading, and serving individual portions in accordance with the nutritional needs of clients. Additional duties include, but are not limited to performing continuous sanitation measures in assigned work areas, on utensils, and on food service equipment as well as cleaning and sanitizing food service environment such as walls, windows and floors.

Requirements: Experience in the areas of food preparation techniques in a large food service operation. Experience in sanitation procedures for a large food service operation. High School Diploma or GED.

Salary: $15,371 minimum, Pay band 01
