Direct Service Associate II
                (Position: Multiple)

Job Description: Southside Virginia Training Center, a twenty-four hour a day, seven day per week residential facility located near Petersburg, Virginia is accepting applications for evening and midnight shift Direct Service Associates. There is a mandatory training program conducted the first twenty-eight days of employment that must be successfully completed for continued employment.

These positions will provider personal care service and habilitation training to clients with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in an assigned area. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting clients with personal hygiene and daily living activities; serves as a training program implementer; observes and documents client progress and behavior in the Client Record System and attends scheduled staffing and mandatory training sessions. Work includes standing, bending, walking, sitting, reaching, pushing/pulling and lifting over 50 pounds.

Requirements: Applicant should possess the following: the ability to interpret, communicate and carry out written and verbal instructions, ability to learn basis techniques and knowledge in developmental care and treatment programs. General knowledge of hospital and related unit practices and /or knowledge of training and care of a dependent population preferred. High School diploma or GED is required. The ability to work both evening and midnight shifts to include weekends and holidays is required. Frequent overtime is a condition of employment.

Salary: $19,310.00, Pay Band 2
