Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
Job Description: Hiram W. Davis Medical Center (HWDMC), a patient centered team of professionals located near Petersburg, Virginia, is recruiting for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (Wage) position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive team of professionals in an 87-bed Joint Commission accredited Skilled, Intermediate, and General-Medical hospital.
This part-time (wage) position is under the direction of an Occupational Therapist. It provides Occupational Therapy to meet the needs of the Medical Center’s patients by: contributing to the screening, evaluation, intervention planning, and transition processes; implementing intervention plans; participating in the discontinuation of services; completing department, medical record, and statistical documentation; and participating in patient related meetings in addition to training and supervision of certified nursing assistants.
Requirements: Must have: experience and knowledge of the principles and practices of Occupational Therapy; ability to develop, plan, organize and implement quality OT treatment in concert with the OTR; ability in reporting patients’ progress, developing treatment recommendations, setting priorities; and ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with all levels of staff and the public Must also: have certification from National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT); have graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program; and have experience in providing COTA services to long-term care patients who are physically and/or emotionally/mentally disadvantaged.
Salary Range: Negotiable (Hourly)
