Administration
The Director of Administration and the departments within this organization assists the Campus Facility Directors in daily operations. Administration provides an environment that allows all other services on campus to perform their programmatic functions. The keys to providing an appropriate environment are 1) the provision of daily administrative and operational services, 2) the continual development of more effective and efficient operations, and 3) the constant control of resources.
Administration also provide liaison services with the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services for matters relating to budget, financial management, capital outlay, architectural and engineering services, and general administration. Through these offices, services are maintained with central government agencies such as the Department of Planning and Budget, Department of Accounts, Department of General Services, and Office of the Attorney General.
Administrative Services
Administrative Services includes budget, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, cost accounting, procurement, inventory control, warehousing, information technology services, mail services, space utilization and policy development and enforcement. These services are provided to the four Southside campus agencies: SVTC, Hiram W. Davis Medical Center, Central State Hospital and Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation.
Environment of Care
Environment of Care department provides housekeeping, laundry, physical plant services, food and dietary services, power plant services, transportation, safety, police and fire protection services/support to the four facilities on the Southside Campus.
Health Information Management
The Health Information Management Department ensures the confidentiality and security of the client records. The department develops and administers policies and procedures related to the preparation, maintenance, and storage of records. Audits are conducted to ensure documentation is timely, accurate, and maintained in accordance to applicable facility, state, and federal standards, and to facilitate availability of information critical to continued quality care.
